The Growth Path

Five stages, one growing path

Follow the path from the first months of language to the last year before elementary school. Each stage below is a destination of its own—and a doorway to the next.

  1. 3 – 12 Months

    Infant Program

    Language begins through connection.

In a calm, nurturing environment, infants are immersed in Spanish through repetition, tone, and meaningful interaction. Teachers model language consistently, allowing understanding to develop naturally.

First words often emerge in Spanish—such as leche and agua—as communication begins to take shape.

  2. 12 – 24 Months

    Mixed Age

    Language becomes active.

Children begin to imitate words, engage in early conversations, and experiment with communication through play. “Pretend reading” and expressive interaction are encouraged daily.

At this stage, children begin to differentiate between Spanish and their home language, building awareness and confidence in both.

  3. 24 Months – 2.8 Years

    Toddler Program

    Independence begins to grow.

Children take pride in routines, build confidence in daily tasks, and expand their social world through cooperation and shared experiences.

Language development continues alongside early academic exposure, creating a strong and balanced foundation.

  4. 2.9 – 4 Years

    Preschool

    Confidence becomes visible.

Students express ideas clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and explore more complex concepts across subject areas.

Through immersive Spanish, children engage in early academics—including science, math, literacy, and the arts—while strengthening problem-solving, fine motor skills, and social-emotional development.

  5. Norwell Campus Only

    Pre-K Program

    Ready for what comes next.

    4 Years by September 1st

A more structured, immersive environment designed to prepare students for the transition into elementary school.

Students strengthen foundations in reading, math, and science while continuing to develop critical thinking, independence, and collaboration skills.

In Hingham, Junior K is part of the elementary school.

One language first — by design.

In these earliest years, every moment of the day happens in Spanish — one language, spoken consistently, the way children are built to learn. It’s the deep root that makes the rest of the journey possible.

This isn’t just early education. It’s where children begin to build how they think, communicate, and approach the world around them.

At SELA, immersion creates a foundation that carries forward—into elementary school and beyond.
